Mass shot at the youth party leaves 2 dead, 4 wounded in Tacoma

A shooting at a party in Tacoma, Washington, left two dead and four injured, authorities said.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, the agents were sent to the big party and witnessed 30 to 40 minors running and shouting from the house, according to the department of the Pierce County Sheriff.

“Multiple calls reported that a fight broke out in the street,” Sheriff’s department said in a statement. “Just before the deputies arrived, the shots and the people and vehicles fled from the scene. The vehicles stuck in the neighborhood while the chaos embodied the entire street.”

The deputies located a male victim in the street and tried measures to save lives, but the man was declared dead, authorities said.

Five other victims were transported by others to local hospitals, where one succumbed to their wounds. The other victims remain hospitalized, but they are expected to recover, according to the Sheriff’s department.

The ages of the victims vary from 16 to 21 years, authorities said.

A young youth has been arrested in relation to the shooting, said Sheriff’s department on Saturday morning.

Authorities say that houses and nearby vehicles suffered damage to the shooting. Researchers remain on the scene on Saturday.

“This is another gloomy reminder about how dangerous the parties can be when things get out of hand,” said Sheriff’s department.
